Norristown State Hospital. Anna was twenty six years and eight months old when she entered Norristown State Hospital. Again, treatment was limited to neuroleptic drugs and forced control through restraint, seclusion and restriction of activities. Again, there was no recognition or treatment for either past or recent trauma. She continued to hurt herself. Two of several attempts at suicide were again nearly successful. The episodic anorexia and bulimia which had gone on for years now became a serious health problem causing her weight to drop to 87 pounds. She lost all her sense of humor and desire to draw or paint, focusing only on her perception of herself as evil and doomed. Nearly two years went by with no sign of improvement in her condition. | |||||||||
